RYTHM Foundation (QI Group of Companies) Education

The “Enabling Foundational Literacy and Numeracy” project transforms lives through equity and empowerment. A joint initiative by RYTHM Foundation, Parinaama Development Foundation, and Door Step School, this initiative bridges literary gaps and equips adults and children with skills to drive meaningful community change. This impactful model of sustainable development fosters brighter futures, stronger communities, and a legacy of hope and transformation.

The initiative strives to improve literacy by providing quality education to both children and adults, enhancing their reading, writing, and comprehension skills while addressing literacy gaps in underserved communities. Additionally, it promotes social mobilization by empowering communities to actively engage in developmental activities and encouraging participation in societal issues through education. By fostering awareness and knowledge, the program enables individuals to become more informed, self-reliant, and actively involved in shaping a better future for themselves and their communities. With an investment of USD 212,488, the initiative covers recruitment, training, educational resources, and community engagement

TOTAL BENEFICIARIES:

581 males
683 females

12,000 community members (indirect)

Before the initiative’s launch, children from marginalized backgrounds faced significant educational barriers due to a lack of structured literacy programs and resources. Community engagement in education was minimal, and teachers and volunteers had limited training and support.

To address these challenges, the initiative recruited and trained a team of 9 teachers, 2 supervisors, and 1 coordinator. Multiple community centres, including Karala Valley, Mundabasti, and Raipur Tea Garden were established, providing accessible learning spaces for local residents. Specialized training programs were conducted for teachers and community volunteers.  The literacy initiative successfully enrolled 776 students in its initial phase, with 724 students maintaining consistent attendance, indicating strong engagement and retention. Community participation was greatly enhanced through interactive workshops, co-curricular activities, and regular feedback sessions, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.

The project has successfully improved literacy rates among disadvantaged children and adults in North Bengal. Community involvement in education and developmental initiatives has significantly been strengthened, fostering a collective commitment to learning and progress. By establishing sustainable education models, training educators, and enhancing access to literacy resources, the initiative has created a foundation for long-term impact. Its holistic, community-driven approach underscores the power of education in driving lasting social transformation and ensuring a more equitable future for all.
