He is a seasoned executive with over two and a half decades of work experience, of which twenty years are dedicated to the life insurance industry. He has a proven track record of achieving desired customer experiences and top-line and bottom-line objectives. He has excelled in customer retention, sales, and distribution strategies, achieving industry-leading persistence ratios. And, in his current work profile at HDFC Life, he has made a landmark achievement of a three-year CAR on revenue growth of 259. Sane has also been instrumental in driving digital payment adoption by customers, improving customer retention and engagement, and launching industry-first initiatives.
He has led large-scale business transformation projects and played a key role in numerous organizational projects, including being a part of a merger integration planning team. He has introduced numerous key business initiatives, including propensity to pay and early warning indicator analytical models, launching app-based journeys for field teams, and launching the industry’s first voice bot for a customer reach-out program.
He has also led channel and distribution leadership by introducing a “Sales Initiative Grid” for cross-pollination of best practices across channels, exponentially growing MDRTs, making all sales channels profitable, and identifying and managing partners and vendors across India. He has delivered a 15% CAGR on revenue growth with a reduction in costs of 250 million from FY19 to FY22 and achieved
80% growth from FY13 to FY15 by conceptualizing, devising, and implementing a strategy for the agency channel, making it profitable such that the channel won an award in 2015 in external forums. He has also played a pivotal role in improving new business margins by 5% in 2012 through multiple strategic initiatives. He has been instrumental in growing revenue at HDFC Life by 15% during the pandemic by meticulously planning and executing a COVID-19 lockdown strategy.
He has also devised a robust process framework towards compliance with various regulations and guidelines, leading to ‘satisfactory audit scores in 2014-2021 and reducing customer queries and complaints about renewal transactions by 30%. His leadership style involves leading, developing, and implementing business sales strategies that involve appropriate market research, analysis, and planning for the growth of the insurance sub-vertical. He also leads distribution strategy development, sales strategy with cross-functional priorities, opportunities for short- and long-term growth, business strategy, and delivering wins for the organization.
